Homecoming is just around the corner and lucky you, homecoming hairstyles are simple, sweet and easy to do! So for your school’s homecoming celebration, I have compiled a few of my favorite homecoming hairstyles just to help inspire you. Whether you have long hair, short hair or hair that is somewhere in-between, here are some  ideas that you can easily recreate at home!

Short Homecoming Hairstyles

Homecoming Hairstyles

Retro waves are all the rage right now whether you have short or long hair and they are easy to achieve with just a little practice.
  • Start with clean, dry hair. Put aside your volumizing products for the moment and use an appropriate shampoo & conditioner for your hair type.
  • Towel dry and apply a mousse or styling product like Sebastian Whipped Crème.
  • Let hair air dry, then blow dry with a paddle brush to smooth the hair cuticle.
  • Part hair deep to one side and spray with a heat protectant like, Kenra Thermal Styling Spray.
  • Use a triple barrel curling iron to create the retro wave pattern Check out this video to see how to use a triple barrel curling iron.
Homecoming Hairstyles for Medium Length Hair

A side-swept up-style is hot, hot, hot on the red carpet right now, which makes it even hotter for you to wear it as your homecoming hairstyle. This hairstyle is simplistic with an understated elegance, perfect for homecoming night and it works with both curly and straight hair types.

To get this look you will want to go for the shine, so get out your favorite cuticle flattening tools and your favorite shiny products, like Paul Mitchell Shine Drops. For many of you this style may work best on second day hair. Experiment and see what works best for you!

Then simply  gather your hair into a low side ponytail and secure with an elastic hair band.  Gather the length of the ponytail and using bobby pins, pin the hair up into the base of the ponytail. Style your bangs or short pieces of hair in front and voila, You've got a gorgeous homecoming hairstyle.
